Scrabbel
Scrabbel was formed by high school friends Becky Baron and
Dan Lee. Although the motivation to start a band had been
there for years it wasnt until a near death experience
along the PCH that finally convinced them to start a band
together. Named after a certain board game in which Becky
remains undefeated in, Scrabbel was formed in 1999 and performed
their debut show in March 2000 at the at the Asian American
FilmFest in SF with friends the Aislers Set. The group has
already appeared on a number of compilations including the
Japanese magazine "Beikoku -Ongaku" as well as Contact
Records "U.S. Pop Life" series. Last summer they
performed at the SFPF2001 Festival in San Francisco alongside
bands as Boyracer, Tullycraft, The Aislers Set, Comet Gain,
The Lucksmiths, and Japanese pop star Hideki Kaji. Kittridge
Records is proud to announce the release of Scrabbels
self-titled debut CD, to be released in June 2002, which will
be followed by a nationwide tour (dates to be announced soon).
Fans might recognize Beckys voice as 1/3rd the singing
/ songwriting talent of SF's #Poundsign# who have released
a handful of well-loved 7"s and cds and been a favorite
on many college radio stations nationwide over the last nine
years.
